Strikeforce Challengers: Villasenor vs. Cyborg
Strikeforce Challengers: Villasenor vs. Cyborg was a mixed martial arts event held by the Strikeforce. The second Challengers event took place on June 19, 2009, at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington.[2]
Background
The event was sanctioned by the Washington State Athletic Commission which, as opposed to other athletic commissions, did not use one-pound allowances during the weigh-ins. In response, Strikeforce made contracts which automatically defaulted into catchweights to allow fighters the extra pound.[3]
